Currently, the cancer was examined by diagnosing the pathological changes of tumor. If the examination of cancer can diagnose the tumor before the cell occur the pathological changes, the cure rate of cancer will increase. This research develops a human-machine interface for hyper-spectral microscope. The hyper-spectral microscope can scan the specific area of cell and records the data of spectrum and intensity. These data is helpful to diagnose tumor. This study finds the hyper-spectral imaging have two higher intensity points at 550nm and 700nm, and one lower point at 640nm between the two higher points. For analyzing the hyper-spectral imaging, the intensity at the 550nm peak divided by the intensity at 700nm peak. Finally, we determine the accuracy of detection by Gaussian distribution. The accuracy of detecting normal cells achieves 89%, and the accuracy of cancer cells achieves 81%.

The effect of atomic position on the spontaneous emission and optical spectra of a three-level atom embedded in a photonic crystal was studied by considering the coherent two-band photonic-band-gap (PBG) reservoir. With the definite phase difference between the fields of the air band and dielectric band in this coherent PBG reservoir, we found that this coherent property grows stronger and results in the spectrum shift and the appearance of dark lines and kinks as the width of band gap gets smaller; and the variation of the atomic position leads to large shift of spectral peak. The averaged spectra of the system with an ensemble of atoms embedded in the dielectric region are blueshifted while those of atoms in the air region are redshifted. The spectra peaks can even shift more than 75% of the half width at half maximum. The feasible experimental systems composed of an ensemble of molecules (quantum dots or fluorescence dye) in photonic crystals are discussed.

A new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast bearing RGD peptide is reported. In this study, ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide (USPIO) nanoparticles with various sizes were prepared. Particles sizes between 6 and 13?nm were tuned by varying the stirring rate. Remarkable negative contrast was observed because USPIO nanoparticles (13.1?+/-?2.1?nm) generated high transversal relaxivity r2 (188?+/-?3?m m-1?s-1) and saturation magnetization (94?emu?g-1 Fe). The USPIO nanoparticles were coated with PDA [2-(pyridyldithio)-ethylamine; PDA nanoparticles] containing functional polymer, which can be readily synthesized by Michael addition. The PDA nanoparticles were conjugated with RGD peptide (RGD nanoparticles) for targeting the specific site. The target specificity and high relaxivity allowed RGD nanoparticles to differentiate the expression level of integrin receptor on several cell lines and tumors (MCF-7, A-549, HT-29 and HT-1080) by in vitro and in vivo MR imaging. Importantly, a remarkable negative contrast (-51.3?+/-?6.7%) was observed for in vivo MR imaging of MCF-7 tumor. This result implies that the RGD nanoparticles that greatly enhance the MR imaging are highly sensitive for early stage tumor detection. Copyright (c) 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

We have synthesized aromatic polyquinolines containing both spirobifluorene and cardofluorene moieties in the main chain by applying acid-catalyzed Friedlander quinoline synthesis. The incorporation of these rigid nonplanar structures into the polymer backbone, which restricts segmental mobility, significantly increases both the glass-transition temperature and thermal stability, while providing enhanced solubility as a result of a decrease in the degree of molecular packing and crystallinity. We have also examined the optical and electrochemical properties of these polyquinolines. The low-lying lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy level and quasireversible electrochemical reduction of these polyquinolines suggest their potential for use as electron-injecting/transporting materials in polymer light-emitting diodes. 2,2'-dipyridylamine substituted poly(fluorene-co-phenylene) copolymers with different concentrations of dipyridylamine have been synthesized by Suzuki polycondensation. These polymers were found to be soluble in organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran, chloroform, and dimethylformamide. The photoluminescence of the copolymer was slightly blueshifted as the concentration of dipridylamine was increased. The introduction of dipyridylamine and the ruthenium complex into the polymer significantly improved the photoluminescence efficiency. (C) 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

In this study we introduce a new method for the onepot synthesis of core/shell/shell alloyed Cd1-xZnxSe/ZnSe/ZnS QDs and examine the effect of the shell coating on the optical properties and exciton dynamics of the alloy core. The photoluminescence (PL) quantum yield is greatly enhanced after shell growth, from 9.6% to 63%. The exciton dynamics were studied by time correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) and fit using integrated singular value decomposition global fitting (i-SVD-GF), which showed the biexponential observed lifetimes on the nanosecond time scale remain the same after shell growth. Using ultrafast transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy and SVD-GF, we have determined that surface passivation by ZnSe and ZnSe/ZnS shells reduces nonradiative recombination primarily on the picosecond time scale. These findings are helpful in directing the development of the next generation of QDs for biological labeling and other applications.

Three novel electron donoracceptor conjugated polymers (P1P3) bearing various imidazole pendants have been synthesized. Their excellent photophysical and electrochemical properties make them suitable transduction materials for chemosensing applications. Indeed, polymers P1P3 have been found to show remarkable sensing capabilities towards H+ and Fe2+ in semi-aqueous solutions. Upon titration with H+, polymers P1 and P2 showed hypsochromic shifts of their absorptions and photoluminescence (PL) maxima with enhanced fluorescence intensities. However, P3 showed diminished absorption and fluorescence intensities under similar conditions due to static quenching. The anomalous behavior of P3 compared with P1 and P2 has been clarified in terms of electronic distributions through computational analysis. Furthermore, P3 (KSV=1.03x107) showed a superior sensing ability towards Fe2+ compared with P1 (KSV=2.01x106) and P2 (KSV=4.12x106) due to its improved molecular wire effect. Correspondingly, the fluorescence lifetime of P3 was greatly decreased (almost 11-fold) compared to those of polymers P1 (4.6-fold) and P2 (6.2-fold) in the presence of Fe2+. By means of a fluorescence on-off-on approach, chemosensing reversibilities in protonationdeprotonation and metallationdemetallation have been achieved by employing triethylamine (TEA) and the disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (Na2-EDTA)/phenanthroline, respectively, as suitable counter ligands. 1H NMR titrations have revealed the unique behavior of P3 compared with P1 and P2. To the best of our knowledge, there have been no previous reports of Fe2+ sensors based on single imidazole receptors conjugated to a main-chain polymer showing such a diverse sensitivity pattern depending on their attached substituents.

"Vibrational level structure in the S-0 (1)A(g) and S-1 B-1(3u) states of pyrene was investigated through analysis of fluorescence excitation spectra and dispersed fluorescence spectra for single vibronic level excitation in a supersonic jet and through referring to the results of ab initio theoretical calculation. The vibrational energies are very similar in the both states. We found broad spectral feature in the dispersed fluorescence spectrum for single vibronic level excitation with an excess energy of 730 cm(-1). This indicates that intramolecular vibrational redistribution efficiently occurs at small amounts of excess energy in the S-1 B-1(3u) state of pyrene. We have also observed a rotationally resolved ultrahigh-resolution spectrum of the 0(0)(0) band. Rotational constants have been determined and it has been shown that the pyrene molecule is planar in both the S-0 and S-1 states, and that its geometrical structure does not change significantly upon electronic excitation. Broadening of rotational lines with the magnetic field by the Zeeman splitting of M-J levels was very small, indicating that intersystem crossing to the triplet state is minimal. The long fluorescence lifetime indicates that internal conversion to the S-0 state is also slow. We conclude that the similarity of pyrene's molecular structure and potential energy curve in its S-0 and S-1 states is the main cause of the slow radiationless transitions."

In this study, a portable Y-type fibreoptic fluorescence spectroscopy measurement system was used to evaluate the freshness of eight cobias (Rachycentron canadum). The results showed that the ratio of fluorescent intensity, which F-480 nm/Fexci+50 nm was belong with the range of collagen type I and type V characteristic spectra, was positive correlated to the frozen time by hours. It was a strong approach to be a potential index for differentiating the fish freshness during delivery process. Besides, the different pattern results of dorsum and abdomen were shown in this study. In further, fibreoptic fluorescence spectroscopy could be a way not only to measure and quantify the freshness of different fish body but also to verify the level of taste.
