Item type:Item, A DATA-DRIVEN MADM MODEL FOR PERSONNEL SELECTION AND IMPROVEMENT(2020-01-01) ;Chuang, Yen-Ching ;Hu, Shu-Kung ;Liou, James J. H. ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung科技管理研究所Personnel selection and human resource improvement are characteristically multiple-attribute decision-making (MADM) problems. Previously developed MADM models have principally depended on experts' judgements as input for the derivation of solutions. However, the subjectivity of the experts' experience can have a negative influence on this type of decision-making process. With the arrival of today's data-based decision-making environment, we develop a data-driven MADM model, which integrates machine learning and MADM methods, to help managers select personnel more objectively and to support their competency improvement. First, RST, a machining learning tool, is applied to obtain the initial influential significance-relation matrix from real assessment data. Subsequently, the DANP method is used to derive an influential significance-network relation map and influential weights from the initial matrix. Finally, the PROMETHEE-AS method is applied to assess the gap between the aspiration and current levels for every candidate. An example was carried out using performance data with evaluation attributes obtained from the human resource department of a Chinese food company. The results revealed that the data-driven MADM model could enable human resource managers to resolve the issues of personnel selection and improvement simultaneously, and can actually be applied in the era of big data analytics in the future.Item type:Item, Data-driven hybrid multiple attribute decision-making model for green supplier evaluation and performance improvement(2019-12-20) ;Liou, James J. H. ;Chuang, Yen-Ching ;Zavadskas, Edmundas Kazimieras ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung科技管理研究所Multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) is the most commonly used methodology for green supplier evaluation and performance improvement. Previous MADM models have mainly relied upon the knowledge and opinions of domain-experts as the starting point for making decisions. However, the results are affected by the subjectivity of these judgments and knowledge limitations. This study develops a data-driven MADM model that utilizes potential rules/patterns derived from a large amount of historical data to help decision-makers objectively select suitable green suppliers and provide systemic improvement strategies to help reach the aspiration level. First, the random forest (RF) algorithm is applied to explore the pairwise influential strength relations among attributes derived from real audit data. The influence matrix derived using the RF algorithm is used as input for decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL)-based analytical network process analysis which is carried out to obtain the influential strength weights of the attributes. Then, multi-objective optimization on the basis of ratio analysis to the aspiration level (MOORA-AS) is utilized to evaluate the gap between the current and aspiration levels for each green supplier. The developed critical influence strength route (CISR) can help managers derive various strategies for improving green supplier performance. The functioning of the proposed model is illustrated using data obtained from the green supplier management department of a Taiwanese electronics company. The results reveal that the proposed model can effectively help decision-makers to solve the problem of green supplier selection and devise strategies for improvement. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. Many organizations worldwide apply an earned value management (EVM) system to monitor and control their projects' performance. However, a successful EVM application requires handling multiple interinfluenced criteria with feedback effects for decision-making and continuous improvements throughout the application life cycle. The conventional decision approaches assume that preferences between criteria are independent and put their focuses on decision-making. This study employs a hybrid multiple criteria decision-making (HMCDM) method to devise a novel procedure to fulfil the deficiencies. The proposed procedure enables us to evaluate interinfluence effects and gap indices among criteria/dimensions/alternatives and then systemize the evaluation results in a context of influential network relation map (INRM). The INRM provides managers with visual information to find a route in making application decisions, while identifying critical gaps for continuous improvements. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the applicability of the proposed procedure. The results show that, by employing the HMCDM method, the proposed procedure can provide organizations with a foundation to ensure that the aspired EVM application outcomes are achieved at different levels within an organization.Item type:Item, Multicriteria Decision Analysis to Develop Effective Sustainable Development Strategies for Enhancing Competitive Advantages: Case of the TFT-LCD Industry in Taiwan(2016-07-01) ;Lu, Iuan-Yuan ;Kuo, Tsuanq ;Lin, Ting-Syuan ;Tzeng, Gwo-HshiungHuang, Shan-LinIn the Internet of Things era, panel displays play a major role in human life, because humans frequently use liquid crystal displays to monitor their electrical devices. The display industry creates remarkable economic output, but every manufacturing process inevitably has some undesirable effects on the environment. With the increasing awareness of environmental protection, balanced development is necessary to address the emerging market trends. However, short-sighted manufacturing corporations that focus solely on financial performance can achieve only short-term profits. The purpose of this study was to develop the most effective sustainable improvement strategies that can enhance competitive advantages in real-world situations. The proposed method combines the balanced scorecard and a new hybrid modified multiple attribute decision-making model which together adopt the DEMATEL technique to construct the influential network relation map and develop the DEMATEL-based ANP with the VIKOR method to deliver strategies that integrate environmental sustainability and competitive advantage. Finally, a real-world case study applying the proposed method to the cases of liquid crystal display manufacturers was conducted. Then, this paper discusses the effective use of natural resources, development of enterprises, and sustainable competitive advantage in this context. Various manufacturers, communities, and stakeholders can benefit from the coopetition solutions explained by the proposed method.Item type:Item, An Integrated MCDM Model for Glamour Stock Selection(2012-01-01) ;Shen, Kao-Yi ;Chen, Vivien Y. C. ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyStock market is full of opportunity and uncertainty, which is characterized by return and risk. Investors have to utilize their knowledge and experience to explore the available information for selecting stocks with good prospects. Investment professionals mainly utilize available financial information for making evaluation, which is often termed as fundamental analysis. Nevertheless, which financial information (variables/criteria) should be considered and the way for analysis is still inconclusive. Furthermore, while making comparison among a group of stocks, different criteria sometime reveal inconsistent signals. To handle the complexity of financial information analysis, this study proposes an integrated method to deal with the glamour stock evaluation problem. The method is based on an examined financial model. In the first stage, the weights of criteria are obtained by DANP method, and the second stage integrates the influential weights with expert's assessment for each criterion to complete the modified TOPSIS based on influential network relation map (INRM) for making decision in improvement direction. This study provides an empirical case for 5 real stocks in the Taiwan market as example. The suggested ranking result generated high correlation with the 5 stocks' subsequent holding period returns, which indicates the usefulness of the proposed method.Item type:Item, Influential structure relationship for factors of festivals and events using DANP(2012-01-01) ;Yang, Wen-Tsann ;Liu, Wen-Hua ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung ;Liu, Hsin-HsienPeng, Kua-Hsinthis study probed into tourism satisfaction for the Taipei International Flora Expo using Hybrid MCDM, and the findings can serve as references for decision-makers in festival planning. This study summarized 4 dimensions and 21 factors that affect festivals and mega events, identified their structural relationship using DEMATEL (decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory), and obtained the key factors and improvement points., DANP (the DEMATEL-based analytic network process) was employed for calculating influential weights to obtain the influential weights among critical factors. The subject was the 2011 Taipei International Flora Expo, and data collection was based on a questionnaire survey of 26 experts. The results showed that the first dimension of festivals and mega events is "entertainment" and the second is "transport". Thus, by improving these two dimensions, the tourists' satisfaction and revisit intention will be enhanced. In addition, according to weighting, the influential weight of information (0.2784) is the highest; this is because clear indication of information, such as the event flow, location, and routes, can improve public satisfaction.Item type:Item, Decision-Making by "Minor ANP" and Classification of the Types(2010-01-01) ;Ozaki, Toshimasa ;Lo, Mei-Chen ;Kinoshita, Eizo ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung科技管理研究所The evaluation with only the alternatives consist of the missing values or the non-square matrix is not easy to make. The ANP that contains these irregular alternatives is defined as "Minor ANP". Then, this study describes the methods of making the priority of only the alternative's matrix values by using the ANP. Our new method is proposed, and is compared with the Harker method and the Nishizawa method in presumption of missing values. And, another new method is proposed, and is compared with the Kinoshita method in the non-square matrix, too. Moreover, the paper presents the types of the decision-making, the meaning of the eigenvalue, and the negative elements of the criteria matrix to the ANP.Item type:Item, Exploring heritage tourism performance improvement for making sustainable development strategies using the hybrid-modified MADM model(2019-05-09) ;Peng, Kua-Hsin ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyIndustrial heritage tourism has become increasingly popular in recent years. However, strategies for improving the industrial heritage tourism development-related performances are still an underdeveloped research topic academically. Therefore, this study's purpose is to explore the feasibility performance-improving strategies using a hybrid-modified multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) based on the DEMATEL technique in constructing the influential network relation map (INRM) and in determining the influential weights of DANP. Then, the modified VIKOR method is combined with the influential weights of DANP, performance gaps were identified, and then the most effective strategies for improving tourism development-related performance at industrial heritage sites can be generated using INRM. Finally, an empirical real case study of a rehabilitated gold-mining site of Taiwan is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the hybrid-modified MADM model. According to the results, the decision-makers should highly prioritize improving high-priority criteria such as 'social usefulness', 'resource integration', 'destination policy and development', 'economic development', 'cultural links', 'cultural learning', and 'natural landscape resources' in advance to successfully achieving the aspired performance levels. Additionally, this study suggests meaningful industrial heritage tourism performance improvement strategies that have been rehabilitated throughout the world.Item type:Item, Evaluating vehicle telematics system by using a novel MCDM techniques with dependence and feedback(2010-10-01) ;Lin, Chia-Li ;Hsieh, Meng-Shu ;Tzeng, Gwo-Hshiung ;科技管理研究所Institute of Management of TechnologyAs the advanced integration of communications, information and vehicle technologies, Vehicle Telematics Systems (VTS). have been initiated for satisfying consumers' needs with respect to automobile movement. Importantly, VTS enables a vehicle to become a multifunction mobile-services platform. Cars are now designed not only for transportation, but also to provide value-added services covering navigation, safety, security, information, communications and entertainment. Drivers or passengers can contact a call center via VTS to access aspired/desired services and information online. Therefore, VTS increases both the utility/functions and the safety of driving. Developing the optimal VTS that satisfies with consumers' needs has become the foremost concern of automobile producers. This study will attempt to identify the required VTS utilities between distinguishing characteristics/features of consumers and propose the ideal service combinations for the next e-era generation VTS. An evaluating model by six aspects to be considered/constructed, which encompasses 25 criteria, is built to identify consumers' needs for the next e-era generation VTS. In the paper, a Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) technique is used to construct the network relation-map (NRM) among the criteria of each aspect. These criteria are not mutually independent: instead, they have feedback mechanisms. The Analytical Network Process (ANP) based on NRM is used to determine the relative weightings among those criteria. Moreover, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is used to determine and improve the gaps among the distinguishing characteristics/features of consumers' desired utilities with respect to services/provide the decision-maker of Telemetics Service Provider (TSP) for improving existing functions or planning further utilities in the next-generation VTS. Based on above NRM those results can be served as a suggestion for the TSP to improve the existing functions or plan further utilities/functions for reducing the gaps and satisfying the users' needs in next e-era generation VTS.
