「公眾對於科技的理解及參與」解構科學傳播---從地球暖化議題探討科學新聞的產製，訊息設計，媒體再現，及公眾認知-「公眾對於科技的理解及參與」全球暖化議題之公眾認知與批判論述分析

Abstract

本研究計畫從「全球暖化」此一牽涉廣泛的科學議題切入，一方面對媒體內容與政 策宣導進行批判論述分析，以瞭解論述建構的意識型態，另一方面同時探索閱聽大眾如 何理解、詮釋全球暖化訊息與資訊，將之內化為價值與認同，並落實在日常行動，以瞭 解科學傳播從媒體再現到公眾理解與行動的細微過程。 本研究將以多種質性研究方法進行。包括以批判論述分析解構媒體再現與政府建構 全球暖化的優勢意識，也將以焦點團體訪談、民族誌學方法與個案研究蒐集第一手資 料，以瞭解公眾對全球暖化現象的詮釋與具體作為。借由探討與全球暖化議題相關的行 動者（含公眾、媒體與政府部門）的「實踐」－也就是其「論述」與「行動」，我們預 期能深度瞭解媒體在科學傳播中扮演的角色，科學知識如何在媒體呈現，以及台灣公眾 對於全球暖化議題的理解、詮釋與態度。更進一步地說，我們希望透過此探討公眾與媒 體的互動，公眾對於環保運動的投入以及全球暖化議題的關心，是否反過來成為政策制 定的推手。

In this research proposal, we pick up the issues of ‘global warming’ as entry points to explore the following perspectives: firstly, how scientific knowledge is constructed and represented by the government and the media; secondly, how scientific knowledge is ‘consumed’ by the public; that is, how the public understand the knowledge of global warming, domesticate the knowledge as parts of their values and identities, and further perform in their everyday practices. We aim to examine the multiple articulations and interactions between the actors, including the public, the media, and the government, when it concerns science communication. Several qualitative research methods will be adopted in this research project to investigate the actors’ practices, namely their discourses and actions. We will use critical discourse analysis to deconstruct the media and government representation of global warming and the ideologies behind the construction. We shall conduct focus group interviews, ethnographic observations and case studies to understand how the public perceive the issues of global warming, respond to them, and probably influence the media and the policies. By doing this research, we expect not only to introduce a new research model for the mass communication discipline in Taiwan, but also to make the society better understand the issues of climate change and work actively in response to it.
