摘要: 隨著數位遊戲在類型與複雜度方面的快速發展,我們觀察到玩家在進入遊戲世界之 前乃至於融入遊戲之後,存在著一個明顯的學習過程。因此我們需要一個更新穎而廣闊 的視野,來完整掌握遊戲歷程中所揭露的學習因素。為了研究遊戲中的學習歷程,本計 劃於總計劃協同各子計畫下,合力發展一個遊戲平台,並在其上設計遊戲,共同進行教 學實驗。目前諸多遊戲廠商已開放遊戲編輯軟體供玩家使用,甚至提供遊戲中的角色屬 性統計資料作為分析之用,但為了深入瞭解玩家與角色之間的對應關係、記錄完整的遊 戲歷程、以及分析設計遊戲時的創意歷程與資源運用,仍須要主控性更高的研究平台。 個人過去的研究成果建立了一個大型的多人線上遊戲平台(MMOG),這個平台具有完 整的功能性,由於是自行開發的,所以掌握所有的關鍵技術,可供各子計畫所需要之實 驗內容之調適。本計劃第一年將完成線上遊戲系統,並依據其他子計畫所需要的功能及 情境需求,建立各個元件與模組,讓各子計畫可以在這個系統之上進行玩家心流(子 一)、個人動機(子二)、心智模式(子三)、遊戲小組(子四)、與玩家階段(子六)等 實驗。第二年將依據第一年的開發及應用經驗,對於系統進行調整,支援更複雜的遊戲 團體研究,包括團體動機與互動行為(子二)、遊戲小組結構與任務類型(子四)等, 並發展玩家也可以使用的遊戲編輯製作工具,供其他子計畫探討遊戲設計及學習的歷 程,包括遊戲設計者的心流狀態(子一)、玩家進入遊戲設計的心智模式轉變歷程(子 三)、以及玩家可由何種層面、使用何種技術或協商來介入遊戲設計(子六)。第三年將 對進行系統的最後修正,將之推廣到各級學校,提供教師設計遊戲或使用遊戲引發學生 學習之參考與建議,以及相關輔導策略。
The complexity and variety of digital game are increased rapidly. We found that there is an obvious learning process existence before player enters and after engaging a digital game. We need a wider view to take full control on revealing the learning factors embedded in gaming process. In order to understand the learning process embedded in gaming process, this research project cooperates with other research projects under the coordination of general project, develop a game platform to design digital game and conduct teaching experiment. Currently, many digital game vendors have opened their game authoring software to public which allow players to design their own game. Furthermore, the statistic information of role attribute on game is opened for analyzing in public. In order to further understand the corresponding relationship between player and role, record the complete gaming process, and analyze the creative process and resource allocation during game design, we still need a research platform in which we can take full control. Our research team has developed a Massive Multi-player Online Game (MMOG) platform in the past NSC granted projects. This platform has complete functionality for MMOG, and because it was created by our team, we own the all key technology of this platform which is capable for all experiment requirements of all other collaborative projects. In first year, we will build a fully functional online game system in which all other collaborative projects can perform various experiments, such as player flow, individual motivation, mental model, gaming team, and player stage. In second year, we will perform necessary modification about this system based on experience gained at first year to support more complicate gaming and teaming research, such as team motivation and interaction behavior, gaming team structure and task classification. In addition, the game authoring tool for game players will be developed to allow other projects explore gaming design and learning process, such as flow state of game designer, the mental model transformation process of players when they are in game design state, and how players adopt knowledge, technology or collaboration to participate the game design. In third year, the final revision will be made for system, and we will promote this system to public schools to allow teachers design game or use game.
