dc.description.abstractThe stability of motion of a heavy symmetric gyro with gimbals in the case of five types of damping torque is studied by the Routh-Hurwitz criterion and the Lyapunov direct method. The damping torque is in five forms, namely linear, nonlinear, polynomial, linear time-varying and nonlinear time-varying. Besides, the stability conditions for a gyro for the case of support in various vertical motions have been derived.en_US
