摘要: 在這篇論文中,我們提出了一些技術以發展出一個可讓使用者以虛擬水與沙進行藝術創作的系統。使用者可以藉由混和虛擬水與沙創作出不同風格的圖片。我們的系統分成三個子系統:水模擬子系統、沙模擬子系統及渲染子系統。在兩個模擬子系統中,我們分別計算沙的移動、水的移動及沙與水間的互動。我們提出一些技術用以實做水與沙的吸收與擴散的過程,這兩個過程可以讓沙呈現深淺不同的顏色,在藝術創作上提供了更多種效果的選擇。在渲染子系統方面,我們平衡渲染品質與計算成本。在渲染效果的處理上,我們以光追蹤法渲染水,並且在渲染沙的時候加上陰影與亮度,同時我們使用區域控制方法來減少水與沙模擬時的計算成本。我們邀請了一些使用者來測試我們的系統,在經過短時間的學習後,他們可以輕鬆的利用我們的系統畫出一些作品。根據使用者研究顯示我們的系統是可以適用於數位藝術創作。我們的實驗結果也指出,使用者可以很順利的 使用我們的系統進行創作。結果圖也顯示了水與沙的互動讓我們的系統比只用水或沙能夠擁有多樣的效果。
In this thesis, we proposed several techniques to develop an art creation system which can let users use virtual sand and water to do artwork creation. The users can create different styles of pictures by mixing virtual water and sand. Our system consists of three subsystems: water animation subsystem, sand animation subsystem and rendering subsystem. In two animation subsystems, we compute the motion of sand and water based on different types of interaction. We proposed a diffusion model to implement absorption and diffusion processes in our system. These two processes can result in the different types of sand: dry sand, unsaturated sand and saturated sand. These differences will create more choices for artists to do art creation. In rendering subsystem, we balance the rendering quality and the computation cost. We render water using the ray-tracing method and the sand is rendered with shadow. We use the local control method for both sand and water to reduce the computation cost. We invited several users to use our system. They draw some images easily after short time learning. The user study indicates that our system is useful for digital art creation. Our experimental results show that the users can use our system to do artwork creation in an interactive rate. Comparing to result images with only water or sand, our result images have more variations.
