dc.description.abstractWe present near-field observations of tuned zero-index bandgaps in photonic crystal superlattices consisting of cascaded negative and positive index media. Supported by precise nanofabrication and experimental measurements, these observed zero-order gaps have potential for wavefront control for arbitrary phase delay lines and open cavity resonances.
