dc.description.abstractOur purpose is to construct a low-cost EEG measurement system that can detect high accuracy brain wave. Our proposal includes following characteristics: low cost, compact size, portability, and easy to use. The proposed device employs the embedded microcontroller to be in charge of whole system. EEG analog front-end circuits of our proposition are based on operational amplifiers that are applied to construct instrumentation amplifiers, high-pass filters, low-pass filters, middle-amplifiers, post-amplifiers and DC offset circuits. For PC-based applications, we program a brief MATLAB procedure to receive, display, and analyze EEG data. For smartphone applications, a Bluetooth wireless module is applied for data communication. We develop a simple demo application to display real-time EEG waveform on Android platform.en_US
