A quantitative analysis parametic amplification vas usually made from the viewpoint of voltage or power . This paper adopted electric charge as the quantity to be analyzed , since it reveals the physical insight of parametric amplification fully. The charge generation mechanism and the charge oscillation criteria have been established and discussed in depth. The simple case of pulsive pumping has been considered thoroughly, and the obtained results may be applied to wave propagation in time-variant media and to light refiection in periodic optical resonators. The approach developed here can be extended to more general cases such as linear pumping and sinusoidal pumping.en_US
