dc.description.abstractThe expressions of the energy levels and line strengths of the Stark effect for both symmetric and asymmetric rotors have been derived by employing the spherical tensor operator and first-order rotational representations.The application of the Wigner-Eckart theorem have been briefly discussed.The magnitudes of the energy matrix elements for first and second-orders and line strengths of J up to 4 of the symmetric tops have been tabulated.Some experimental measurements have been discussed.en_US
