dc.description.abstract(Ca,Ln)(3)(PO4)(2)center dot(Ln(3+) = TM3+ or Ce3+) phosphors were synthesized by a solid-state method, and the VUV photoluminescence (PL) spectra, optical properties, and chromaticity of phosphate phosphors are investigated in this paper using synchrotron radiation. The concentrations of the two activators are both 1 mole%. From the PLE spectra, (Ca,Ln)(3)(PO4)(2)center dot(Ln(3+) = TM3+ or Ce3+) absorbs in the VUV region and emits light in the UV (Tm3+, Ce3+), purple (Ce3+), and blue (Tm3+) regions. Moreover, the 1931 CIE chromaticity coordinates of (Ca0.99Tm0.01)(3)(PO4) were found to be (0.1463, 0.0613), as (0.1664, 0.0482) for (Ca0.99Ce0.01)(3)(PO4).en_US
