We propose a self-restored ring-based TDM-PONs to prevent fiber cut. By using our proposed Y-type passive component in each remote node (RN), the proposed ring-based PS-PON can be revived promptly under single fiber failure. The protection and restoration time of the proposed ring-type access network is depends on the switching time of switch of PHY layer. Moreover, the system performance is also measured and discussed experimentally.en_US
