The asymmetric benzotrichalcogenophene compound is a heterocyclic compound having furan, thiophene, selenophene and/or tellurophene subunits. The polymer has an asymmetric benzotrichalcogenophene subunit and can be formed by polymerizing the asymmetric benzotrichalcogenophene compound and an electron-accepting compound.
