Abstract: We propose a decoupling controller design method for linear multivariable systems with periodic inputs. The plant may be nonminimum phase, and the periodic inputs may have different periods in different input channels. In addition to achieving closed-loop stability and input-output decoupling, the design is to satisfy prespecified sensitivity bound and tracking error bound for a class of periodic inputs in each channel. With the proposed design approach, an n-channel MIMO design problem is reduced to n SISO ones in which design specifications can be independently achieved. A design algorithm is proposed, and an illustrative example is given.
