A hybrid optical fiber amplifier module, which operates in the range from 1520 to 1600nm,, has been proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The proposed amplifier is a three-stage amplifier in cascade with a coupled structure, which includes two erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, and a semiconductor optical amplifier, respectively. Peak gains of 35.4 and 38.1 dB at 1532 and 1568 nm over the operation range can be retrieved when the input signal power is -30 dBm.en_US
