In this paper, a practical approach is introduced for the design of multivariable feedback systems. At first, the cross-coupling in the plant is expressed in terms of the equivalent disturbance. The ''non-interacting'' formula is then established to remove the effects of the equivalent disturbance on the designing compensator. Ultimately, ''nearly non-interacting control'' is concerned from the viewpoints of engineering. A typical two-degree-of-freedom system structure is adopted to handle the conflict between the command-tracking performance and the disturbance-rejection requirement.en_US
