| 摘要: | 新埔鎮，當地居住百分之九十的客家人，生活簡單、淳樸，至今仍然可見耕田而食、鑿井而飲的景象；青壯年人口外移－為了念書、工作，年輕一輩的人紛紛離開，到都市中求生活－剩下的多半是上了年紀的老人與孩子。 許多年久失修的祠堂、家廟，早已廢棄不用；古老的祭祀活動與傳統的宗親聚會，都隨著人口外流、老一輩的人相繼過世，而淪為歷史的記憶。時代變了，人們的生活型態不同了，家廟祭祀的重要性也大不如前；不禁感嘆，「祭祀活動一切從簡，以往宗族聚會的盛況早已不復。」 |
