dc.description.abstract | An internal laptop computer antenna capable of generating two operating bands to cover GSM850MHz (824-894), 900MHz (890-960), DCS1800MHz (1710-1880), PCS1900MHz (1850-1990) and UMTS2100MHz (1920-2170) operations is respectively studied. The proposed antenna occupies a size of 60mmx10mmx5mm along the top centre of the supporting metal frame of the display panel which occupies a size of 300mmx200mm and is suitable to be embedded inside the casing of the laptop computer for practical applications. The long folded slit is meandered at the top part, the excited antenna surface currents starting from the feed to the portion of the folded slit, which leads to a significant reduction in the required dimensions for the proposed antenna. A bandwidth-enhancement method using an inverted L as a parasitic element is used to provide an additional resonance and also improves the impedance matching by widening the bandwidth at the upper bands. A prototype antenna was fabricated and tested for input reflection coefficient and radiation performances. The measured and simulated results have been presented and discussed. Important geometrical parameters determining the multiband performance of the antenna have been explained. The proposed PIFA covers all the five operating bands for a laptop computer. | zh_TW |
