摘要: | 在現在的網路世界中,各種新興的網路服務使得消費者對網路頻寬的需求遽增。以銅導線為傳輸媒介的DSL技術沒有辦法提供足夠的頻寬,而光接取技術是一個明顯的解決方案,因為光纖能提供相當高的頻寬。而無線傳輸服務所提供的機動性是另一項重要的需求,我們的目標就是結合有線和無線傳輸來建立一個高成本效益的系統。如今OFDMA以及WDM PON對於下一世代的被動光纖網路是兩項較為突出的技術。兩項技術各有他們的優缺點。OFDMA PONs除了提供高頻譜效率外,在頻寬的分配上也有很好的彈性。另一方面,WDM PONs能夠支持大量的ONUs。我們在這兩項技術上截長補短,建立一個混和地PON 架構來解決現今的問題。最後我們以一系列的實驗來驗證此系統的可行性。 A variety of new network services make users’ demands for bandwidth grow dramatically nowadays. The DSL technology based on copper cannot provide enough bandwidth. Optical network is the solution, because fiber can provide very high bandwidth. The mobility of wireless service is another primary demand. Thus, our goal is to integrate wire and wireless service to build a cost-effective system. Orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) PONs have been envisioned as prominent technologies for the next-generation PONs. Both technologies have their strengths and weaknesses. OFDMA PONs offer high spectral efficiency and flexible sub-channel bandwidth allocation. On the other hand, a WDM PON system is capable of supporting a large number of ONUs. To integrate their advantage, a promising solution has been a hybrid WDM/OFDMA PON system. So we carry out a series of experiments to demonstrate the feasibility of the system. |
