摘要: | 由於物件導向資料庫具有強大的模擬能力、擴展性佳、容易維護等等特性 ,使得物件導向資料庫逐漸成為下一代資料庫的主流。另一方面,由於儲 存體存取技術的進步以及其價格不斷地降低,使得資料庫在儲時間性的大 量資料變得可行。我們也相信,未來會有更多的應用程式需要用到資料庫 管理系統所提供的這種功能。在本論文中,我們為具有時間回轉功能的資 料庫提供資料儲存結構,並且設計、執行一連串的模擬以及儲存體空間需 求分析,以便評估各種儲存結構的效能表現及適用時機。此外,我們也為 各種儲存結構提出適當的叢集策略以增進其執行效能。最後,我們也為能 處理單一物件隨時間演變功能的時間性資料庫提供資料儲存結構。 OODB, due to its flexibility and expressing power, is believed to be the next generation database. Furthermore, the continuing progress and the decrease in price in secondary storage make the inclusion of temporal information support an attractive feature. We believe that, to extend the potential usefulness of OODBs beyond its existing applications, we must also support temporal features in OODBs. In this thesis, we study the storage structures for rollback object-oriented database management systems. We also run a series of simulations to compare their performance under different loads and analyze the storage requirement of these data structures. In addition, we suggest clustering strategies for these storage structures to improve the performance. Finally, we propose a storage structure for single object evolution in temporal databases management systems. |
