dc.description.abstract | 整合服務數位網路(ISDN)最重要的應用之一即是提供現存電腦網路間的網 際連線, 由於ATM網路的本質是連接導向的(connection-oriented) , 欲 使傳統非連接式(connectionless)的網路規約得以在此連接導向的網路環 境中運作, 我們可以透過非連接式資料伺服器(connectionless server) 提供非連接式資料之傳送. 本篇論文的主題在於尋求非連接式資料伺服器 之最佳位置, 進而建構一個最佳的虛擬拓樸結構, 使得整個網路的非連接 式資料傳輸成本總和降至最低. In the near future, the interconnection of LANs/MANs will be one of the most important applications in the ATM-based B-ISDN. LANs/MANs at present predominantly use connectionless protocols, while ATM offers connection-oriented communication. The connectionless data service on B-ISDN can be realized directly by means of the connectionless servers in which connectionless data service functions are provided. In this thesis, we focus on the optimization of virtual topology for the interconnection of LANs/MANs with a wide area public ATM network. Two algorithms based on the greedy and branch-and- bound methods, are presented to determine the locations of connectionless servers. By finding the optimal locations of connectionless server, an optimal virtual topology, which has the minimized total transport costs for the connectionless data traffics, is constructed. | zh_TW |
