dc.description.abstract我們使用全反射橢圓干涉系統,採用8-CB液晶分子,在鍍不同濃度配向劑的 固態界面,藉著光雙折射,來量測表面液晶層在各向同性液態時的排列情形 。藉以了解液晶-固態界面的定向位能。再跟藍道-迪建理論及拼謝的預測 作比較。我們也試著利用原子力顯微鏡來觀察鍍了配向劑的固態表面結構 。也利用程式來分析已有的實驗數據,以期能得到更科學化的結果。 Using the evanescent wave ellipsometric technique, we study the surface induced orientational order of 8-CB liquid crystal in its isotropic phase near a silane-treated glass surface. The results are compared with the Landau-de Gennes theory and theoretical prediction by Ping Sheng.We use Atomic Force Microscope to observe the silane-treated surface, and also use MATLAB programs to analyze the experiment data for 5-CB.zh_TW
