dc.description.abstract當液晶處在高於相變溫度的環境下,亦即內部液晶 為各向同性相時 ,固體表面的定向位能仍能夠讓表面附 近的液晶分子沿一定方向排列. 在此我們利用全反射式 橢圓干涉技術來探討在液晶高於相變溫度時的表 面方向 性沾濕現象.我們使用一系列不同混合比例的5CB與7CB液晶,並 以DMOAP 使混合液晶在樣品內呈垂直排列.使用混合液晶的目的在能夠 有系統地改變表面定向位能,藉以研究其沾濕行為.由實驗結果可確定 觀察到由部分沾濕過渡到完全沾濕的現象,與現行理論相符.另外在觀 察混合液晶的相變溫度時,發現隨著兩種液晶分子間作用力的不同,其 相變溫度會有增高的趨勢. Using the evanescent-wave-ellipsometric technique,we have studied the orientational wetting behavior of isotropic LC to solid interface as T>Tc.The sample is made of 5CB and 7CB on a glass substrate coated with DMOAP.The mixtures are varied by changing mixing ratio and the surface potential can be varied accordingly. The properties of orientational wetting for various surface potentials are studied. The results show the transition from partial to complete wetting,which agrees with the theoretical prediction.zh_TW
