dc.description.abstract | 寬頻整合服務數位網路(B-ISDN)被期望能有效地支援各種多媒體資訊的 傳輸,而ATM正是一個適合此種需要的主要技術。因此,我們根據了多媒 體訊務的特性以及對於服務品質的需求,設計了一套適應於ATM 訊務特性 排程方式,簡稱為CBS。在我們的方法中,交換機中對於不同的VC利用不 同的VC緩衝區,而每一個VC緩衝區需要維護兩個變數,分別為Timer與 BankCounter。首先根據每一VC訊務的特性與QoS的要求,其中VC訊務的特 性為 Maximum burst size (MBS),QoS的要求包括 Maximum cell transfer delay (CTD)、Sustained cell rate (SCR),來決定每一VC訊 務所使用的兩個參數,T與Q,並配合上其VC緩衝區的Timer 與 BankCounter變數,進而保證每一VC在交換機中,T的時間可以送出Q的量 。藉由這個簡單的機制並加上Timer變數前提,CBS可以有效、公平的應用 於可變位元速率訊務並達到Maximum cell transfer delay的要求。在我 們的模擬中,所使用的組態有兩種,分別為Single node與Parking lot, 而原始的流量模式為On-off model並利用Leaky bucket來使流量平順。由 分析與模擬的結果,我們確保了排程所須具備的幾項條件:(一) 隔離性 ,(二) 保證兩終點端的延遲,(三) 使用率,(四)運作簡單。因此CBS的 確是一種簡單且有效的排程方式。 Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network (B-ISDN)is expected to efficiently support multi-media informationtransfer, and ATM is the key technology to fulfill therequirement. In the thesis, we investigate a schedulingscheme applied to ATM traffic based on the traffic characteristics and guaranteed QoS. The scheme is abbreviatedas CBS. In our scheme, each VC queue maintains two variables,Timer and BankCounter. The characteristic of the traffic isparameterized as maximum burst size (MBS). QoS guaranteed are characterized as maximum cell transfer delay (CTD) andsustained cell rate (SCR). Besides, advancing Timer is usedby CBS. From the analysis and simulation results, we show that CBS features the following: (1)Isolation of flows, (2)Guaranteed end-to-end delay, (3)Utilization, (4)Simplicityof implementation. CBS is indeed a simple and efficientscheduling scheme. Thus, CBS can be applied to VBR trafficand it can fulfill the QoS requirement. | zh_TW |
