信天翁II:WWW環境上之跨平臺遠距教學教學系統

Abstract

遠距教學的歷史可謂行之有年，而傳統傳播教學的媒體有：函授教學、電 視教學、或者是 廣播教學等。近年來由於電腦軟硬體技術上逐漸成熟， 而廣域網路的普及，使得WWW成為 今日資訊社會中的新寵。WWW之超文件 與多媒體的特性，與簡單易學的使用者介面，提供 了一個更多元化的傳 播方式。本論文目標在創造一個合作式的遠距教學環境(信天翁II)：以 WWW為基礎，讓學習者透過可支援Java語言的瀏覽器，隨時隨地的進入本 系統的課程中 ，成為虛擬教室內的一位學習者。 本系統提供下列的輔助 工具：1.全覽圖(Overview Map) 2.導覽器(Guide Tool) 3.記事本( Notebook) 4.線上討論區(Chat room )。這些工具幫助學生順利的在超媒 體環境中瀏覽課程，並且能方便的與其他人進行溝通與心得交流，以達到 合作學習的效果。 Distance education has a long history, it usually represented by *one-way* mass media such as correspondence courses, television, and broadcasting. Usually, a learner is isolated during study. On the other hand, he can communicate with others by writing letters, talking in telephone, or taking periodic face-to-face meetings.Nowadays, the technologies of computer hardwareand software are growing rapidly, and the wide spread Internet makes the WorldWide Web become the most popular information service sources. The hypertext and multimedia characteristics and easy-to-use manipulating interface of WWW provides us a new type of mass media. This thesis introduces a new cross- platform cooperative distance learning environment based on WWW : Albatross II. A learner can join the virtual classroom in this environment just by usinga Java-enabled browser, and become a cooperative learning member of the system. The system provides these assistant tools: 1: Overview Map, 2: Guide Tool, 3: Notebook. 4: Chat room. These facilities help learns to browse the course material smoothly, and communicate with others conveniently.
