有線電視網路上之隨選視訊系統協定設計與製作

Abstract

隨著多媒體資料傳輸以及處理技術的進步，在今日的世界裡，要想在 有線電視網路上提供隨選視訊(VOD)之類的服務，也變得更為可行。在本 篇論文中，我們將為您探討關於在此類系統的發展中，幾項較為重要的議 題，包括MPEG-II節目的多工及解多工、有線電視網路上的資料傳輸協定 、系統客戶端之節目選單設計(EPG)，節目之選取以及播放方式等。我們 將藉著目前已制訂完備的一些標業 □[以應用改進，來完成此類系統。例 如，MPEG-II標準的系統部份，它提供了將數個MPEG-II節目多工( Multiplex)、混合在同一條傳輸資料流中，於網路上傳輸，以及相 的在 客戶端解多(De-multiplex)之方法。將此再加上有線電視網路上類比訊號 與數位訊號的轉換技巧，我們的系統將可以相同的頻寬，提供更多的VOD 頻道。也可以藉著MPEG-II所提供的條件式存取(Conditional Access)功 能或DVB的data scramble方式增加系統的安全性。另一方面，透過系統所 制訂之資料傳輸協定以及EPG設計，此項隨選視訊系統便可發展出一方便 、具有高度互動性的圖形式使用者介面，呈現於系統遠端的使用者面前。 With the improving technology on multimedia data transmission and processing, Video-On-Demand (VOD) service over CATV networks has been probable nowadays. In this thesis, we discuss several design issues for this kind of service, including the multiplexing and de-multiplexing of MPEG-II programs, transport protocol on cable network, and Electronic- Programming-Guide(EPG) of this system. We may apply some related standards to achieve these goals. For example, we may employ the MPEG-II system layer standard that addresses the way to multiplex several MPEG-II programs into a single transport stream and the relative way to de-multiplex this transport stream at the remote site(STB). Moreover, associating the multiplexing skill with digitization technology over CATV would enable the system server to support more VOD channels simultaneously. On the other hand, MPEG-II conditional access functions and DVB data scrambling mechanisms both provide the secure access function. In addition to an effective transport protocol and system EPG, a highly interactive VOD service with friendly graphic interface will be represented to the system users.
