dc.description.abstractThe important concept of W-CDMA with pilot-symbol associated with each data channel is introduced. The pilot-symbol assisted channel estimation makes coherent detection possible on the reverse link. The accuracy of the channel estimate is crucial for coherent detection. In the thesis, we propose a channel estimation scheme simpler than the modified weighted multi-slot averaging (WMSA) estimation filter. The new channel estimation scheme has better tracking ability than the modified-WMSA channel estimation.en_US
