摘要: 一個接近轉換極限及高功率皮秒級的雷射光脈衝是非常有用的在光通訊,光學取樣,及其他應用。 在這篇論文中,我們報導了一個使用增益開關的半導體雷射,經由共振式驅動得到一個1.3W高功率,14.5ps短脈衝,重覆頻率在1.0GHz的雷射光脈衝。這個雷射為一個漸寬式增益波導的結構,中心波長在0.8微米。我們如果加上一個斜向入射的繞射光柵及一個反射鏡形成一個自回饋式的外腔,可以使雷射光脈衝達到1.4W的峰值功率,及7.0ps接近脈衝轉換極限1.2倍,且波長可調範圍可以從790nm到810nm。(SMSR > 20 dB) 此實驗提供一個架構簡單且可靠的波長可調高功率短脈衝的雷射系統,此雷射系統在一些研究的應用上是很廣泛且重要的。
Transform-limited and high-power picosecond optical pulses are very much needed for optical communication system, optical sampling and other applications. In the thesis, we reported a gain-switched semiconductor laser diode via resonant driving to obtain high peak-power 1.3W and short 14.5 ps pulses at 1.0 GHz repetition rate. The short optical pulses were generated by gain-switching a tapered stripe gain-guided laser diode Sony SLD 202 λ= 0.8 um) and enhanced via resonant driving. Further more, with the utility of the grazing incident diffraction grating with a mirror consisting a self-seeding external grating cavity, we developed a versatile laser diode system which provides high peak power 1.4W, nearly transform-limited pulses 7.0 ps ( 1.2 TB product) capable of wavelength tuning from 790 to 810nm (SBRR > 20dB). This experimental configuration for generation picosecond optical pulses from resonant driving gain-swiched semiconducotor diode laser was proved to be simple, reliable and useful for a number of applications.
