摘要: 铁电性液晶的非线性光学研究中,主要偏重在thermal effect和electronic effect所引起的非线性光学现象,但是由reorientation effect 所引起的非线性光学研究却少有人提及。
本论文的主旨是探讨边界效应对光致垂直排列的铁电性液晶分子重新排列的影响;并且更进一步讨论当电场和光场耦合作用时,不同边界效应对铁电性液晶螺旋节距和相图的影响。根据变分法原理,我们发现当系统平衡时,系统可能具有下列三种的边界条件:(1)Two Hard Boundary Conditions。(2) Two Natural Boundary Conditions。(3)One Hard and One Natural Boundary Conditions。利用数值方法,我们模拟了在这三种边界条件下,不同外场的液晶指向矢分布与探讨边界效应对指向矢分布或是相图的影响,并且与陈庆逸博士在98年发表在APL上的BULK理论结果相比较与讨论。
We have investigated the boundary effects on fileld ( including the optical and electrical fields ) induced molecular reorientations on ferroelectric liquid crystals (FLCs) by numerical methods. We calculated the director profiles of homeotropically aligned FLC films with three different possible boundary conditions : first is hard boundary on both sides , second is the natural boundary on both sides and the other is one hard and one natural boundary. The comparison of these results with that of the published bulk theory and the experimental data is presented.
