dc.description.abstract在本論文中我們提出了一種新的熱光式光波導開關結構。利用高分子材料擁有高熱光係數特性,元件的基本結構為1 2彎曲多模干涉波導,在未加熱狀態下,藉由多模干涉波導自我成像的原理,元件處於cross state。在加熱狀態下,藉由熱光效應改變局部區域的折射率,元件處於bar state。我們所提出的彎曲結構可減少元件尺寸,增加操作頻寬,減少串音。zh_TW
dc.description.abstractIn this paper we propose a new thermo-optic waveguide switch structure. The basic structure of the device is a 1 2 bent multi-mode interference waveguide based on polymer materials with a high thermo-optic coefficient. When operating under the power off situation, the device stays at the cross state by utilizing the self-image property of multi-mode interference waveguides. When the heater is turned on, the device operates at the bar state by utilizing the index change caused by the thermo-optic effects. The novelty of our device is to utilize the property of mode shifting in a bent waveguide in order to reduce the size of the device. This design can also improve the operation bandwidth and reduce cross-talk of the switch.en_US
