台灣與韓國第三代行動通訊產業發展之比較

Abstract

在台灣與韓國兩國政府及業者，對通訊產業均積極投入。台灣擁有全球第一的資訊產品生產基礎與高行動電話普及率，韓國則具備行動電話製造的尖端技術和政府全力推展數位內容產業的優勢。台灣與韓國在第三代行動通訊產業中，不論是在服務、產品或是零組件市場都有可觀的市場規模與發展前景。本論文針對兩國行動通訊產業之產業結構與優劣勢進行深入討論，包括台灣與韓國第三代行動通信服務、產品與零組件產業之發展趨勢。另一方面，也藉以對GSM以及CDMA兩大系統在未來行動通訊市場中之發展進行分析與比較。本論文將透過各種指標與資料－ 一、分析全球及中韓兩國第三代行動通訊產業上、中與下游之現況與趨勢，進行有系統的產業研究； 二、探討中、韓第三代行動通訊產業中，服務、產品與零組件業者之發展策略，及其優勢、劣勢、機會與威脅，進而了解台灣與韓國第三代行動通訊之產業競爭優勢。 本研究希望能夠提供中、韓兩國政府與第三代行動通訊業者參考。

Both Taiwanese and Korean government put great emphasis on developing domestic mobile telecommunications industry. This research analyzed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and strengths of the mobile phone handset manufacturers in the two countries. The Taiwanese manufacturers are experienced in providing low cost contract manufacturing service for global name-brand vendors. The Korean manufacturers have become the leading provider of CDMA equipment and handsets. Under the leadership of national giants such as Samsung and LG, the Korean electronic component manufacturers have made significant breakthroughs in the technologies of System-On-Chip and Multiple-Chip-Packaging, which produced high performance key components for mobile phone handsets. The huge mobile phone demand in the China market is the target under fierce competition among Taiwanese, Korean, global providers as well as the emerging Chinese local venders. Based on the competitive analysis findings, the author made respective suggestions to the mobile phone manufacturers in Taiwan and Korea.
