This study aims to analyze the opportunities to promote a technology transfer from the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to Dosquebradas Chamber of Commerce (CCD) delimited for the metalworking industry. The framework proposed by Kebede & Mulder (2008): Needs Assessment and Technology Assessment: Crucial Steps in Technology Transfer to Developing Countries was the cornerstone to make a methodical analysis of the opportunities for a technology transfer between developed to developing countries. The starting point of the analysis were Colombia´s governmental studies and long term diagnosis for the needs of the region, Risaralda. The results were constantly examined by engineers or experts in the region´s industry, giving immediate update and feedback of the process. The results showed appropriate compatibility between ITRI and CCD in their fields of research and development, more specifically amongst the Mechanical and Systems Technologies and the Colombia´s metalworking industry. The results produced a list of five projects, with a suggested methodology of transfer and evaluation of the potential technologies that could serve the purpose and needs of the CCD.zh_TW
