dc.description.abstract由於無線區域網路的技術發展與普及,各種多媒體應用相繼的被提出,其中對於語音通訊方面的應用更是一個重要的課題,例如VoIP (Voice over IP) 。然而,由於無線網路本身存在的一些問題,例如網路頻寬的不足,封包的延遲及各種干擾所造成的資料錯誤等等,這些問題對於具有及時性的語音通訊而言,均將會影響其通訊品質。 IEEE 802.11是一個應用在無線區域網路中的通訊協定,提供了各個工作站在無線區域網路中資料傳輸的標準。在IEEE 802.11標準中,所有要傳送資料的工作站均須透過CSMA/CA的機制互相競爭以取得媒介的使用權。然而當有多個工作站在同時傳送資料時,這種機制對於具有即時性的封包(例如語音封包)而言,將會大大的影響到其封包傳輸的時效性。 在這篇論文中,我們提出一個方法來改善語音封包延遲的現象。對於傳送語音封包的工作站,我們降低DIFS及EIFS的等待時間,如此當有多個工作站要同時傳送資料時,傳送語音封包的工作站將會優先取得傳送權,如此將會降低語音封包的傳輸延遲。 我們使用NCTUns網路模擬器來驗證我們所提出的方法,模擬的結果正如我們所預期的,當只有一個工作站在作資料傳輸時,語音封包並沒有產生太多的延遲現象,然而隨著傳輸資料的工作站越多時,使用標準IEEE 802.11 MAC協定所傳輸的語音封包,其封包延遲時間就很明顯的變長。然而以我們修改過的802.11b MAC協定所傳送的語音封包,並沒有產生太多的傳輸延遲現象。由最後的結果得知,此篇論文所提出的方法的確能改善競爭時所造成的封包延遲現象。zh_TW
dc.description.abstractBecause of the technology development and popularizations of the wireless LAN, various multimedia services are proposed successively, in which the voice communication like VoIP(Voice over IP) is also an important service. In IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol, the STAs have to obtain the power of the medium access through the mechanism of CSMA/CA before starting data transmission. For a real time service, if there are more STAs to want to do data transmission at the same time, this mechanism will influence the prescription of the packets. In this thesis, we propose a method which reduces the waiting time of the period of DIFS and of EIFS to improve the situation of the voice packet delay. For a voice STA, we reduce the waiting time of the period of DIFS and the period of EIFS. Therefore, if there are more STAs to want to do data transmission at the same time, the voice STA will obtain the high priority to transmit its frame. And the situation of the voice packet delay will be reduced. We use NCTUns network simulator to verify the new 802.11 MAC protocol. The result of the simulation shows that if only a data stream is transmitting, the voice frame is not delayed obviously. With the increase of the data stream, delay of voice packets which are transmitted by standard 802.11 MAC procedures will be occurred. However, if using the new 802.11 MAC procedures to transmit the voice frame, the situation of the voice frame delay will reduce.en_US
