In this proposal we aim to resolve some of the issues raised by Machine-to-machine (M2M) Standardization Committee, LTE-A and IEEE 802.16p. In particular we focus on (c) Resource allocation & scheduling, (e) Low power consumption, (f) Cooperating transmission and reception and (g) Self-organization issue. We propose four subprojects, namely: • Sub-Subproject #1: Cooperative Communication for M2M • Sub-Subproject #2: Energy-Efficient M2M Resource Allocation for OFDMA Networks • Sub-Subproject #3: Randomness analysis in M2M Communication • Sub-Subproject #4: Associative Communication in M2M In the first subproject cooperative transmission is being developed by investigating the user scheduling and resource allocation in MIMO Systems. In second subproject we develop a low power resource allocation schemes by approaching self-organization issue and propose Machine Device Grouping and Coordinator Selection for Energy-Saving M2M. In the third subproject we focus in particular on the random and complex nature of M2M communications. We analyze the influence of the large amount of randomly located machines in the M2M communication via means of stochastic geometry and evaluate scenarios based on homogeneous Poisson Point Process (HPPP) and Poisson clustered random process. Using the first three subprojects as a firm basis for establishing the architecture of M2M communications on the transmission level, in the fourth subproject we extend this architectures into intelligent network of sensors. By developing the online association controller we incorporate the higher level demands and end-to-end application goals into the structure of wireless sensor networks. |
