摘要: 本兩年期計畫分為兩個主題同時進行研究:室溫兆赫波輻射源與兆赫波段光學元件。我們將以高遷 移率電晶體為主動元件,適當結合一維或二維週期性金屬結構作為表面共振腔,達成功率合成之目 的,實現操作於室溫之高功率兆赫波輻射源。我們亦將擴充實驗室傅式紅外光譜儀的頻譜量測範圍, 用於量測輻射源與光學元件之全波段頻譜特性。光學元件的研究將包括於塑膠基板製作濾波器與偏極 片以及無基板之光學補償器,最終用於架設一套適用於兆赫波段的偏光儀量測系統來分析輻射源之偏 振態。
The two-year-term project will focus on two subjects: developing high power room-temperature terahertz emitters and fabricating terahertz optical components. We will design and fabricate one-dimensional and two-dimensional gratings integrated with high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) to enhance emission power of HEMTs. We will also expand the measurement capability of our FTIR spectrometer to allow a full spectral characterization of terahertz sources and passive components. As for optical components, we will fabricate resonant filters, polarizers (supported by plastic films) and phase retarders. Finally, we will build a terahertz polarimeter system which is capable of measuring polarization of radiation sources.
