《人間師格》原名是「Detachment」，有著超脫、分離的意思，導演運用了卡繆的話：「And never have I felt so deeply at one and the same time. So detached from myself and so present in the world──我從未如此深刻感受到超脫於自身，卻又如此真實地存在於世界 。」
