摘要: 高亮度动态范围显示器系一能产生真实世界所看到的高对比影像之显示装置。然而,现
有已提出之装置之背光模组架构,其独立光源具有近乎涵盖全部面板之点扩散函数,如
此特性将增加系统的计算时间与复杂度,不利于即时动态影像之讯号处理。在此国科会
子计划中,我们利用侧发光式发光二极体结合具微结构之导光板,将建构能独立控制局
部光场分布之发光二极体背光模组,此模组能大幅度简化高亮度动态范围影像处理之褶
积运算,缩小其运算核心进而由一常数乘积取代。此外,我们将进一步开发新型发光二
极体封装结构及非对称性复合式微透镜阵列光学膜,以建立色序型全彩式高亮度动态范
围背光模组。此种背光模组搭配本国科会整合型计划之其他子计画,将能在未来发展出
具有高影像对比、高色彩重现、低功率消耗以及动态影像表现优良之次世代显示器。
High dynamic range display can reproduce the super-high contrast ratio images existing in the
real world. However, the point spread function on the panel from light source of conventional
HDRD BLM is not localized but expanded distribution over the whole panel. Such
characteristics will increase the complexity of system and influence the performance of real
time motion image. In this project, combining side-emitting LEDs with micro-structured light
guide, we construct an LED backlight module which can provide a localized independently
light distribution. The BLM can simplify the kernel of convolution during the image
processing even replacing it by multiplying a constant. Furthermore, in order to achieve the
field-sequential-color HDRD BLM, we will develop new LED package and asymmetric
hybrid micro-lens array film. Such novel LED backlight module connecting with other joined
projects in this integrating proposal will build a next generation display which has the
advantages of high dynamic range, wide color gamut, low power consumption, and clear
motion image.
