dc.description.abstract周边装置在与个人电脑连接时,使用通用序列汇流排(USB)是一个有弹性且简单快速的连接方式。在工业界,许多的设备在做系统整合开发时,往往都是使用串列埠将各个系统与个人电脑做连接,但现今的个人电脑大多都不再提供串列埠的状况下,大多都会使用市售的USB-to-RS232或RS485来连接个人电脑,但都需要额外开发与安装驱动程式,并且随着作业系统的更新必须再更新驱动程式。

本论文提出一种以HID(Human Interface Device)类别实现USB-to-RS485之方法,此方法利用USBHID装置随插即用的优势,在完成设备与电脑连接之后不需要额外花费时间在电脑上安装驱动程式,能够减少安装程序、降低人为疏失与开发人力资源、减低未来开发设备在量产之后需要售后服务的次数。

dc.description.abstractUniversal Serial Bus (USB) is the standard communication port for most of the peripherals in the modern PCs. Nowadays, the common industrial devices still use the serial port to connect the PCs. In addition to the above method, there is a way to emulate a serial port by USB converter which can provide a Virtual COM Port. However, these solutions are not convenient, because the serial port is not provided in the modern PCs. Besides, by using the Virtual COM Port, the software drivers must be installed.

This thesis describes the implementation of USB to RS485 converter based on USB HID(Human Interface Device) protocol. In our research, once the devices connect to the PCs correctly, which can provide the direct communication of both sides. Precisely, this solution can improve the development time, installation steps and reduce the number of after-sales service of the products.
