dc.description.abstract隨著人們對於高品質影像或是應用的需求,外部記憶體長久以來一直是影響系統效能最嚴重的一環,這是由於以往的記憶體受到頻寬的限制,在加上先天存取資料的緩慢而導致。但利用矽導孔(TSVs)技術做出的三為動態記憶體堆疊,比起傳統的隨機處理記憶體可多出至少32倍的輸入/輸出腳位,大大緩解了以往外部記憶體頻寬的嚴重不足。然而,在過去的記憶體系統設計中,並沒有一個有效使用外部記憶體的隨選記憶體系統,所以我們提出一個適合高頻寬三維動態記憶體的高輸入輸出記憶體系統,把三為堆疊記憶體帶來的高頻寬好處完整的提供給上層應用端。 在多媒體系統中,高效率影像壓縮(HEVC)是目前廣泛試用的影像壓縮標準,而為了提高壓縮效率,在壓縮的過程中伴隨非常大量的記憶體需求,而隨著影像解析度的提升,也需要更大的記憶體存取頻寬和記憶體容量來處理龐大的影像資料,但過多的資源分配只會造成成本增加,對於系統效能的幫助有限,所以我們提供了針對記憶體系統最佳的辦法,可以妥善安排記憶體資源配置。另外我們也討論不同的記憶體位置轉換對於系統效能的影響,探討如何使得記憶體系統運作效能在有效率的位置轉換中取得最佳化。最後,由於我們將高頻寬的好處帶到應用端,電路交換器的複雜度反而會是整體系統效能的瓶頸,所以我們也提出了一些舒緩交換電路複雜度的方法,緩和高頻寬記憶體系統的效能因為交換電路的降低。zh_TW
dc.description.abstractWith increasing demands on high quality video and application, external memory has long become the most serious impact to the memory system perfor-mance. But based on the through-silicon-vias in 3D-stack memory, the I/O pins between logic tiers and DRAM are 32x at least compared to conven-tional DRAMs. This greatly eases the shortage of external memory bandwidth. However, we don’t have the efficient memory system which can fully utilize the bandwidth offer by the Wide-I/O DRAM, so we proposed a Wide-I/O Memory Subsystem to bring the fully benefit to upper application end. In this paper by constructing the two layer cache memory architecture, we offer a better way to make a proper allocation to the memory resource. And we also consider the video characteristic to get the bet-ter performance. Last, we proposed the way to ease the complexity of switch circuit in the memory sys-tem to minimize the latency of bus.en_US
