In this paper, a utility-based throughput maximization (UTM) scheduling scheme is proposed for downlink multiuser MIMO-OFDMA systems. The UTM scheme allocates subchannels, receiving antenna, and modulation order to multimedia users with goals to maximize throughput and guarantee QoS requirements. Based on the channel quality and the QoS requirements of each user, we formulate the scheduling into an optimization problem subject to system constraints and propose a heuristic TM algorithm to solve the optimization problem. Simulation results show that the UTM scheme achieves system throughput higher than conventional schemes such as ARRA [8] and CDPS 171 schemes by about 8% and 21% at traffic intensity 0.75, respectively. Moreover, the UTM scheme has better QoS satisfaction ratio than the ARRA and CDPS schemes.en_US
