NBA球員薪資與表現之分析

Abstract

目的：本研究旨在分析美國職籃2016-17賽季，球員薪資與表現之關係。方法：蒐集美國職籃2016-17賽季所有球隊之收益、勝場數、球員勝場貢獻值與薪資等資料，計算出球員對球隊貢獻的邊際收益量(marginal revenue product)，與球員的薪資進行比較分析。結果：球隊勝場的邊際收益為1,404,000美元，聯盟中過低給付最多的球員是Rudy Gobert；超額給付最多的球員是Chandler Parsons。結論：2016-17賽季，所有球員平均超額給付2,164,862美元，其中非自由球員平均過低給付998,716美元，自由球員平均超額給付2,875,070美元。

Purpose: This study mainly analyzed the relationship of NBA players' salary and performance of 2016-17 season. Method: We collected the data of 2016-17 season NBA teams' revenue, wins and players' win shares and salary to calculate player's marginal revenue product. Then compare with player's salary. Results: Marginal revenue of team's win is 1,404,000 dollars, the most underpaid player is Rudy Gobert; the most overpaid player is Chandler Parsons. Conclusion: In the 2016-17 season, all players are average overpaid by $2,164,862, non-free agents are average underpaid by $998,716 and free agents are average overpaid by $2,875,070.
