Evaluation of J-function and other related functions by recursion formulae

Abstract

Solutions to inany chemical engineering problems involving heat and mass transfer contain the well known J-function. By Laplace transformation method, recusion formulae are derived for the evaluation of this function. Formulae for calculating other related functions are also presented. These functions appear in the solutions to dynamics of fixed bed sorption processes, transients of heat exchangers and continuous cocurrent processes.
