Integrated planar waveguide concave gratings for high density WDM systems

Abstract

Three-type designs of concave gratings, including Rowland-circle type, Taylor-expansion type, and recursive-definition type are discussed and their diffraction performance are compared. Furthermore, the structure of compensation design for polarization independence in a planar waveguide structure is discussed.
