The surface modified (carboxylation or oxidation) nanodiamonds provide the chemical or physical conjugation with the bio-molecules to form the bio-functionalized nanodiamonds. The protein lysozyme absorbed on nanodiamonds can interact with E. coli bacterial cells. The lysozyme-nanodiamonds complexes were demonstrated to retain their antibacterial activity which allows constructing the indicator system (bio-sensors). [1]en_US
