Abstract: | This letter studies the feasibility of transmitting IS-95 code-division multiple-access (CDMA) wireless signals in hybrid-fiber-coax (HFC) networks, Capacity estimation of an HFC optical node-based CDMA cellular systems using a return-path channel model is provided. In addition to multiple-access interference in IS-95 CDMA networks, the return-path channel model takes into account ingress noise, impulsive noise, and microreflections in a coaxial cable transmission system; and laser diode clipping-induced intermodulation noise in an optical fiber link. |
