dc.description.abstractA novel optical signal generator with purely sinusoidal waveform output has been demonstrated by applying a triangular phase modulation waveform to a fibre-optic gyroscope (FOG). A frequency-multiplied output in the format of an optical signal could be generated. An optical-type electrical phase-locked-loop system based on the intensity-modulated light source and this triangularly phase-modulated FOG has also been demonstrated.en_US
