摘要: 由于植入式医疗系统逐渐发展,为了观察生理讯号或传输控制资料,一个具有低功率、小面积并可操作在植入式医疗用频段特性的无线传收器需求与日俱增。本篇论文中阐述一个应用于植入式医疗用频段401~406 MHz的传收器,包含传送机 (Transmitter)、接收机 (Receiver)并整合在一个晶片上。
传收器采用On-Off Keying (OOK)调变,此调变方式为一数位调变,可以减少电路复杂度以达到低功率,小面积的目的。在传输端,采用环型振荡器以电压控制产生401~406 MHz的振荡频率作为载波频率,并设计输出功率在"≤" -16 dBm。在接收端,接收经由空气衰减后大于-55 dBm的讯号,放大并解调回原始传输资料。
根据模拟及量测结果证实,由于制程漂移影响,此接收器灵敏度只能处理大于-45 dBm 的讯号。量测结果显示此传送器在此频带范围内的输出功率为-17.19 dBm,资料传送速率小于4M bps,功率消耗为0.84 mW。接收器可接收大于-45 dBm的讯号,资料传送速率小于2M bps,功率消耗为0.59 mW。传送器和接收器传输每位元所需要的能量分别为0.21 nJ/b和0.295 nJ/b。晶片操作电压为1.8 V,在台湾积体电路制造股份有限公司与国家晶片系统中心的帮助下,此晶片以0.18微米制程实现,晶片面积为0.55 mm2。
Recently, there have been significant advances in medical implanted devices. As the increase demands for medical implant communication service. For these applications a low power, small area wireless transceiver are required. In this thesis, the design methodology and implementation of a 401-406 MHz wireless transceiver for implanted medical devices are presented.
The on-off-keying (OOK) modulation is adopted to relief the circuit complexity and achieve a low power and small area purpose. The transceiver is tested under 1.8 V supply power for all blocks. Post-simulation results show that the receiver have sensitivity to -55 dBm. However, due to process variation, measurement results show that the transmitter have bit rates up to 4M bps with power consumption of 0.84 mW, the receiver have sensitivity to -45 dBm and consume 0.59 mW. The transmitter and receiver achieve an energy-per-bit of 0.21 nJ/b and 0.295 nJ/b, respectively. The die area is 0.55 mm2. The design is implemented in TSMC 0.18-μm CMOS technology.
