This thesis is focusing on the combinations of life style and self-identity in present generation, and how these combinations happened on the interconnection of human beings and regions. Forming the brand, “Yilan“, with policy goals and administration visions, Yilan government made Yilan representing a “mind-homeland” or a “bliss home” in the past several years; Furthermore, the new expressway between Yilan and Taipei brings Yilan with one giant impact, which is strongly rising home price and forming a phenomena called “ luxurious farmhouse” . Taking a global view of Yilan background data, this thesis set four kinds of migrators as respondents, including: Waldorf parents, friendly farmers, private hotel holders and other migrators with their own personal reasons which encourage them move to Yilan. With the residency histories of these migrators before and after their migrations, it helps thesis author to understand the conditions of an ideal hometown, the signification of capital utilization, and the practical procedure of satisfying the “Good life” in these migrators’ minds. No matter what the migration motivations should be, all the migrators try to perform a new life experiment, which pays much more attentions to living quality and home environment. Moreover, migrators with their self-practice in imagination and realization, form their unique lifestyle community which extends personal lifestyle to group lifestyle and derives a sense of place in Yilan. In the end, this thesis makes conclusions in three views (self-identity, group lifestyle and senses of place) by discussing the homology and heterogeneity of “Good Life”.
