Cardiovascular disease is a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels, such as heart valve problems, arrhythmia, heart attack, stroke, et al, and is the number one cause of death in global. Therefore, many countries paid attention to prevention and cure of cardiovascular diseases. In order to monitor the patient’s electrocardiogram (ECG) state anytime and anywhere, the development of wearable ECG monitoring device is necessary. In this study, a non-contact bio-potential acquisition system for monitoring ECG under post-cardiac-surgical rehabilitation was proposed. Here, a novel non-contact electrode was developed to measure the user’s bio-potential without conduction gel, and without contacting with the user’s skin. It can avoid the issue of drying under long-term ECG monitoring, and can be embedded in a clothes to provide more comfortable ECG measurement. The experimental results show that the correlation between ECG signal quality measured by using the proposed non-contact electrodes across the thin clothes and disposable surface electrodes is about 98.43%. Finally, the proposed non-contact bio-potential acquisition system was applied for monitoring the heart rate of the patients with arrhythmia. From the experimental result, it shows the proposed non-contact bio-potential acquisition system can exactly be used for monitoring ECG under post-cardiac-surgical rehabilitation. |
