dc.description.abstract本論文,提出以特別結構的全像光學元件,作為多級光學連線之基本單元 (cell) ,同時探討使用此全像交換單元(Holographic Switching Cells) 來組成各種連線網路。此全像單元有一些良好的特性,極適合於系統上的 應用。這些特性包括輕薄、可緊靠性及高靈活度等。本論文詳細討論如何 以此全像交換單元來組合 Planar Crossbar Network, Rectangular Crossbar Network 及 Multistage Type 1 Network 這三種網路。在作最 佳化的設計時,運用其可緊靠性及高靈活度 ,使得所有交換單元間的連線 可全部消除。不僅所需的元件數可以減少,同時可以降低整個系統所佔有 的空間,並改進系統的性能。為了提升 Multistage Type 1 Network 的效 益,使用一個改良的全像交換單元來減低各個功率損失。網路結構經修改 後,可以減少所需的元件數及降低整個系統的功率損失。 Hlographic switching cells are presented and interconnection networks with these elements are investigated. These cells have unique features of compactness, light-weight and flexibility, which are suitable for system applications. The procedures to improvement Planar Crossbar, Rectangular Crossbar and Multistage Type 1 Networks with our holographic switching cells have been discussed in detail. After optimum design, the unique features of compactness and flexibility of holographic elements efficiently eliminate all interconnection lines between switching cells when using prism devices. Not only the number of required components are reduced, but also the space of the system is significantly saved. The performance of each designed network is also investigated and compared. In order to further enhance the performance of Multistage Type 1 Networks, a modified structure with loss-reduction holographic switching cells has been presented. This modified network structure reduces the component number and the loss of a basic holographic switching cell, and enhances the SNR of the whole system.zh_TW
